The bride and groom arrive at the ceremony venue to the vibrant sounds of traditional Sri Lankan drummers and dancers. This joyful cultural welcome creates an unforgettable entrance and introduces the couple to the traditions of Sri Lanka.

🌸 2. THE BEAUTIFUL PORUWA

The couple is escorted to the decorated Poruwa, a traditional Sri Lankan wedding platform. The Poruwa is beautifully decorated with flowers and traditional elements, creating an elegant centrepiece for the ceremony.

🪔 3. LIGHTING OF THE OIL LAMP

A traditional oil lamp decorated with flowers is lit as a symbol of light, prosperity, happiness and a bright future for the newly married couple.

💕 4. TRADITIONAL RITUALS & BLESSINGS

The ceremony continues with traditional Sri Lankan rituals and blessings representing love, unity, prosperity, harmony and lifelong partnership. The rituals are conducted according to traditional customs, with explanations and guidance provided by the wedding team.

🌺 5. FLOWERS & CELEBRATION

The bride receives a beautiful bridal bouquet, while the groom wears a matching buttonhole flower. Traditional Sri Lankan sweetmeats and beverages are also served to complete the cultural experience.

A professional photographer captures the most beautiful moments of your wedding day. Photography can take place at the ceremony venue and surrounding natural locations, including:

The ceremony can incorporate the traditional Sri Lankan Poruwa ceremony, a beautiful cultural wedding tradition filled with symbolic rituals, blessings, music and celebration.

📜 LEGAL MARRIAGE FOR FOREIGN COUPLES

Foreign couples wishing to legally marry in Sri Lanka must provide the required documentation and complete the applicable registration procedures.

Typical Documents Required

• Copy of valid passport
• Copy of birth certificate
• Legal documentation confirming marital status, where applicable
• Divorce decree / relevant documents if previously married
• Other documents that may be required by the relevant Sri Lankan authorities

Documents should generally be prepared in English or provided with the required certified translation/legalization.

⏳ PRE-WEDDING STAY

For foreign couples, a minimum stay of 4 working days before the wedding may be required to allow time for document verification and completion of registration formalities. Exact requirements can vary according to nationality and the applicable registration authority, so these should be confirmed before booking.

📜 MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE

Following completion of the legal registration, the official marriage certificate can be arranged with English translation and legalization where required. Processing time depends on the relevant authorities and documentation.
